From Stuart - the skipper on the day.
It was a good run out on Saturday for the Club.
Bowling first, Dumfries bowled good channels early on and restricted their top order. All the bowlers bowled well in spells but all have things to work on. Dec and Jacob both bowled well on their debuts for the Club. Callum also bowled a good opening spell. His hard work looks to be paying off.
The fielding was also good in stages. Having Tommy back is a luxury which I am looking forward to having this season. Drew’s stunning catch, diving to the right at midwicket, was the highlight. However there is plenty to work on with both catching and ground fielding.
Batting was always going to be tough chasing the sizeable Ferguslie total but the batsmen performed well, with most batters getting in and spending time at the crease. Adam looked untroubled early on and played some quality shots.
Looking forward to the season and if we all work hard at training I am sure it will be a successful season for DCC.
