Our 2025 Cricket Club Committee
Thank you to those who have stood for our cricket club committee for 2024-25 at our 2024 AGM at the club last Friday. See HERE. We are volunteer led so we need their support for the Club to progress.

There are some roles vacant. So if you wish to come forward for a position on the committee, or are prepared to take on a discrete specific task for the club, or are able to contribute an hour or so on an occasional basis then please do contact a committee member, or email us on dumfriescricketclub@gmail.com. We are open to suggestions for how you might be prepared to assist the club.

Autumn Junior Sessions completed
Our Autumn Junior Sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays have finished after our six week block. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and our thanks to the coaches and helpers for making the sessions happen (Andy, Tony, Dave, Drew, Trefor, Hugh). The Christmas hats were out on Monday for the Stars and it was game time for the Wednesday juniors.

We will resume sessions in the New Year, later on in January. Watch here for details.

Apply to a MCCF Cricket Hub
For boys and girls (ages 11-16), free-to-access cricket with winter training and summer match-play opportunities starting in January at a MCC Foundation Hub. Our nearest MCCF Hub in Scotland is in Glasgow, then in Edinburgh. We have had juniors attend before so ask us, or your coach, with your questions. Details are HERE on our website.

January Social and Senior Awards Night - Fri 31st Jan
We are holding a Seniors Award Night on Friday, 31st January (6 for 6:30pm). This coincides with the start of the Rugby Six Nations (France v Wales at 8:15pm). So first will be our awards for season 2024 and then drinks to watch the rugby. More details to come of a fun filled evening.

Cricket Connections
New bowling hero for England, Bryden Carse, and our Chris McBride have played in the same side. This was for Durham County 2nd XI in a match against MCC Young Cricketers in 2018. And our former overseas player Chad Breetzke (2013) will/must have played against him learning their cricket in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

Sports Club - Jog Scotland starts on Monday 6th January
"Join us at Dumfries Sports Club on Monday 6th January 25 at 6:30pm, for a FREE 10 week Jog Scotland course. This course is delivered by members for Dumfries Running Club who are qualified Jog Leaders."

Running the Club
Our 2024 Cricket Club Annual General Meeting took place last Friday.

The WCDU (Western District Cricket Union) AGM is online on Monday, the 16th December, 7pm.

The Dumfries Sports Club AGM has been re-scheduled for Monday 20th January at the club.
