Our Winter Junior Sessions start on MONDAY & WEDNESDAY
Our indoor junior sessions start up on Monday! Sessions start up after the October schools break (from Mon 28 Oct, Wed 30 Oct) for a block of 6 weekly sessions in the St Josephs College Sports Hall.
Mondays 5-6pm Stars (5-8 years), Boys and Girls (28 Oct - 2 Dec. 6 sessions)
Wednesdays 5-6pm Blasters/Chargers (9-11/12-15 years) Boys and Girls (30 Oct - 4 Dec. 6 sessions)
New starters very welcome. Just come along to try or contact us. The fun starts indoors!

Coaching Courses
Cricket Scotland have updated dates for their upcoming coaching courses with Level 1 courses scheduled in November.

Women's Cricket

The Women's T20 World Cup reached its conclusion with New Zealand winning the final on Sunday and did mean that a Scot won a World Cup medal with Kasperek from Edinburgh and formerly of Carlton a member of the winning squad.
NB: Wee Bash Indoors. There is Women & Girls soft-ball cricket with a Wee Bash event, suitable for starters, on Sunday 3rd Nov 10-2pm in Kilmarnock. Contact womenscricket@dumfriescricketclub.com with your interest.
Scotland Cricket
Chris (McBride number #3) captained Scotland 'A' at the weekend at the T10 European Cricket Championships Finals Week in Spain. He hit 54 off 14 balls (Chris highlights are here ) in the qualification game for the final but Scotland lost out to the Netherlands, who, in turn, lost to the England XI in the final.
And Scotland Men are playing now in the USA with ODI 50-over league games against the USA and Nepal (e.g. Fri 25th, 16:30 v USA streamed online at www.icc.tv).
Getting Cricket Registered
Spend a couple of minutes getting registered with Cricket Scotland and join the others from the club who have already signed up to the Scottish Cricket Registration System.
Anyone involved in Scottish cricket can register with SCRS with a current priority for the following categories – Players, Juniors, Club Officials and Administrators, Umpires and Scorers.

NEW Scottish Sports Concussion Guidance has been published this week along with a brief video.
But “The message remains the same: all concussions are serious - if in doubt, sit them out.”

Running the Club
The club survived Storm Ashley relatively unscathed with the mobile nets ending up down in the hedge and wedged against the fixed nets but with only minor damage to the netting.
There was a Cumbria Junior Cricket meeting that we attended on 24th October at Cockermouth CC and the Eden Valley Cricket League AGM is on Monday, 4th November, at 7:30pm in Penrith.
The WDCU are also receiving feedback from the club committee to their recent survey which was sent out to clubs on this season's WDCU cricket in the West.
The next cricket committee meeting is on the 5th of November with the 2024 Cricket Club AGM scheduled for Friday the 29th November.
The Dumfries Sports Club AGM is scheduled for Monday the 16th December at the club.
