Autumn Junior Sessions on MONDAYS & WEDNESDAYS
This week we had an uptick in numbers for both Monday and Wednesday junior sessions which is good to see. And after Drew used the 'one' cricket song in his Wednesday video of the 'Quick Runs Safe Catches' drill, we are accepting suggestions for the music for his next epic.

The sessions run until Mon 2 Dec, Wed 4 Dec for a block of 6 weekly sessions in the St Josephs College Sports Hall. Do consider bringing a friend along for a free try e.g. we would like to welcome more Stars (5-8 years).

Mondays 5-6pm Stars (5-8 years), Boys and Girls (28 Oct - 2 Dec. 6 sessions)
Wednesdays 5-6pm Blasters/Chargers (9-11/12-15 years) Boys and Girls (30 Oct - 4 Dec. 6 sessions)

New starters are very welcome. Just come along to try, or contact us, and you could come with a pal as well.

Blasters who are unable to make Wednesdays contact the club for a possible additional session on Mondays [Email dumfriescricketclub@gmail.com]

January Soclal and Senior Awards Night - Fri 31st Jan
We are holding a Seniors Award night on Friday, 31st January (6 for 6:30pm). This coincides with the start of the Rugby Six Nations (France v Wales at 8:15pm). So first will be our awards for season 2024 and then drinks to watch the rugby. More details to come of a fun filled evening :)

Simon Says
Simon, our 'Ground Guru', is happy with the grass growth after the end of season work renovating the square and which is continuing with weekly work on the ground. So we are optimistic for more Nunholm Roads next season.

Running the Club
We have the 2024 Cricket Club Annual General Meeting scheduled for Friday the 29th November where one of the topics will be what senior Cup competitions in the West we wish to enter next season.

If you wish to consider standing for the club committee (and we would welcome more help), or wish to raise something to be discussed within the committee then email dumfriescricketclub@gmail.com.

A WDCU Clubs Forum is taking place on the evening of Monday, 25th November, at GHK CC.

The Dumfries Sports Club AGM is now re-scheduled for Monday 20th January at the club.

In Memory
The club is sad to hear of the passing of Chris Carruthers. He served as President of Cricket Scotland in 2002-2003. Prior to this, he was Scottish Cricket Union Chair between 1991 and 1996. He captained Grange in Edinburgh but in moving to this area he came along to spectate at Nunholm and also supported the development of cricket within Dumfries & Galloway. Our condolences to his family and friends.
